Along with the VFX system update from Cascade to Niagara, the workflow of decal particles and ribbon particles in Unreal Engine changed too. This is the effect I made to learn and practice the new workflow. There was no decal renderer in Niagara in UE 5.0, so I used material nodes to calculate world pos behind the object to make the decal effect and tagged the material as "Surface" to get it work properly.
*UE 5.2 has updated the decal renderer in Niagara, so there are potential improvements for this effect.
